Barcelona is the second-largest city in Spain and one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. From football fans to art lovers Barcelona has a little bit of everything for everyone. It is a city steeped in history, Gaudi's architecture makes Barcelona even more famous. It has unique food and a wild nightlife that doesn't even begin until late night I first came here in 2002 to attend an Airbus conference and have found myself drawn back here year after year, digging deeper into the food, culture, and history of this special place. It's people are full of life. Gaudi is Barcelona's most famous architect and is considered as the architect of god . You can find his work spread throughout the city. The Sagrada Familia and the Poble Espanyol is the most famous of his works. The city is full of art museums and Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya.Since it is high on a hill it gives a panoramic view of the city. The world famous painter Pablo Picasso spent a major part of his life in Barcelona. One can find his works in many of the art museums in Barcelona. The city is a heaven for football fans as it is home to one of the greatest football teams in the world - Futbol Club Barcelona, aka Barca. The camp nou is the largest football stadium in the world . The city was the host of 1992 olympics and a visit to the Olympic stadium is a must. Barcelona is also famous among racing lovers as the Circuit de -Catalunya hosts both Formula 1 and MotoGP. La Rambla and Placa de Catalunya are major shopping centers in Barcelona.
